You are correct and the game warden still at the scene just told me that the child and Justin both had the life jackets on. It is such a tragedy but I am so thankful the father had the discipline that may be what saves his life. May God reach down and touch this young man as his family needs him.
I remember seeing Justin's name on the thread about life jackets. I went back to check it out and sure enough, he posted. Looks like he was adamant about his 12 yr old wearing his life jacket.
Justin's persistence saved his son's life in this accident...everyone with kids - please remember this every time you're on the water.
Prayers to everyone effected by this tragedy.
Teach a man to fish and he will figure out how to lie on his own!

God put your hand over the Wilcox family and others involved. Give them comfort and peace as they grieve. Give them understanding in the days-weeks, months and years to come. God we are not sure why but we are not to question your will. God I know you are in control, please be with the families and friends. Lord I ask you to be there with the doctors that are dealing with the child involved and intervene and be the ultimate physician you are and allow the child to pull through. God I ask this in your holy and precious name. Amen Amen

This is such a tragedy that I'm speechless except to say that I'm praying for the boy and the families of all involved.
We never think when we put the boat in the water that something like this might happen. Two lives snuffed out, both doing what they loved.
I just fished all night on Fork last weekend. Fortunately I stayed in timber well off the boat lane, but I saw boats running all night.
Horrible, just horrible.
